unionized contractors in discussions with the Cape Breton Island
Building and Construction Trades Council, the body representing
the building trades on Cape Breton Island. The company is signatory

JAMES

James
began his career in the construction industry as a carpenter, through
his initiative and hard work started his own company, Joneljim Concrete
Construction in 1970. Joneljim has grown to a general construction
and project management company that has revenues in excess of 60
million and employs over 150 trades people.
The
Joneljim Group of Company's also includes three building supply
operations, a millwork operation and residential and commercial
rental properties.
James
is involved in the day to day operation of his company from estimating,
negotiating contracts to managing the projects. These projects range
in value from five hundred thousand to fifteen million dollars.
James
has been among the first to receive the Order of Nova Scotia. He
received this prestigious award in September 2002. This award is
given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to
the economic well-being of the province.
James

Gary
began his career with Joneljim in 1994, bringing with him vast experience
and knowledge of the construction industry. Gary started working
for Maritime Builders, Sydney, NS in 1973 as an Estimator/Project
Manager, he became President of Maritime Builders from 1985 to 1992.
Gary was also employed as Estimator/Project Manager for Pembroke
Construction, Glace Bay, NS in 1992.
Gary
has received the Canadian Construction Association's Gold Seal Certified
Estimator honor in 1999.

Everett
is corporate controller for the Joneljim Group of Companies, which
include a general contractor, building supply operations, millwork
operation and a window manufacturer.
Everett
is responsible for the financial operations of Joneljim Concrete
Construction. He handles the financial arrangement for the company's
banking, bonding and insurance requirements.
Everett
has been involved in the financial area of all of the company's
major projects for the past ten years. These would include P-3 Schools,
Sherwood Park Education Centre and UCCB Campus Expansion.


MIKE BAKER, P.Eng

Mike Baker began his construction career as a Labourer working on various projects which included lying out and constructing buildings. Wanting to further his career path, Mike entered university obtaining his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Degree from the University College of Cape Breton and his degree in Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University.
After completing his degrees, Mike entered the workforce in 2002 working for RKO Steel as a Project Manager on the Ericraude Oil Rig Project. Following this experience Mike went to work for J.W. Lindsay gaining vast knowledge concerning tilt up on numerous projects in the Halifax area.
Wanting to move his family back home to Cape Breton, Mike began working for Joneljim Concrete in 2004. He has been involved with UCCB Residence project supervising the excavation and layout of the building, also supervising the layout and excavation of the Ron May Pontiac Project. Joneljim is confident in Mike’s abilities to supervise any project including any excavation, trenching and layout of the site.
